WASHINGTON - The conservative group American Future Fund today released ads in U.S. newspapers Politico Wall Street Journal and in comparing the economic policy of the government of Alejandro García Padilla with those of Venezuela and Argentina.
The review is based on the determination of the Garcia Padilla to invalidate a tax settlement of $ 229 million awarded by the administration of Luis Fortuño Doral bank.
The message of the conservative group, which is also very critical of the federal health reform adopted by the Obama administration, was promoted in San Juan by the organization Progressive Alert, a propaganda arm of the New Progressive Party (PNP).
"In Recent co-weeks, the governor (García) Padilla and his government have foster a stroke against Doral Financial Corporation," American Future Fund said in a press release signed by its founder, Nick Ryan.
The conservative group says debt $ 72,000 million from the government of Puerto Rico "has forced the Commonwealth to delay payments to the bondholders."
"The governor (Garcia) has adopted policies Padilla criminal leaders like President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela and President Cristina Kirchner of Argentina," says American Future Fund.
For the government of Puerto Rico, commercials, full-page, suggest responding "to a third campaign trying to undermine the credibility and reputation of the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico."
"This is highly disturbing because it attempts to jeopardize the financial stability of our country by attending a private and particular situation. Not cease in our efforts to restore fiscal and economic stability of the country, "said Secretary of the Interior, Ingrid Vila Biaggi.
Meanwhile, the secretary general of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Jorge Suárez Cáceres, fears behind American Future Fund is the political opposition on the island.
"This conservative group, bring a populist message that is motivated by political forces of the extreme right in the U.S. close to the Tea Party. This organization was founded by Mick Romney in 2007 and we all know that is a sworn enemy of all democratic politics and President Barack Obama.'s message this group efforts that this administration has been doing to get forward Puerto Rico is not recognized, "said Suárez Cáceres.
