Power Plant Explosion in Puerto Rico kills one, three wounded

One person died and three others were injured Sunday in an explosion at the power plant of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) in Guaynabo, San Juan surrounding city.
The official release from the Puerto Rico Police, Maritza Ramos said the blast occurred at 13h40 local time (17h40 GMT) in a boiler main power station that supplies power to the metropolitan area of San Juan and villages nearby.
By the time the reasons and circumstances of the explosion is unknown and the authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased worker or their wounded comrades, who were taken to a nearby hospital.
Still, the board of the Union of the Electricity Industry and Irrigation (UTIER), the main union of ESA, conveyed his sympathy to the families of those affected.
“Our prayers with colleagues from Central San Juan and the families of all those affected. Lot of strength to all,” said UTIER through his Twitter account.
The mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz said in the same way:. “Our solidarity to fellow UTIER ESA and the unfortunate situation in the Central Count on us”.
“Our prayers for the injured in the explosion at the plant in SJ AEE. Fortaleza for themselves and their families,” said the representative of Puerto Rico in Washington, Pedro Pierluisi, in the same social network.
